Nineteen News August Edition
Welcome Message!
It’s hard to believe we are almost in September and at the start of another busy show season.
There has also been lots going on in recent weeks…
We have welcomed the Space-Comm team to Wimbledon HQ (moving from just next door). We are super excited with the latest addition to Nineteen as it’s a brilliant team and a fast-growing market with bags of potential. The perfect recipe for success.
I made the trip out to Boston to see our colleagues at Nineteen Americas HQ and it struck me how much the team have achieved since acquiring three businesses at the end of last year. They have faced challenges (always with integrations) but there is so much opportunity for 2027 and beyond. KADI in action!
We are in several exciting M&A processes which are shaping up to be the best year yet on that front. The more we acquire, the more opportunity for Nineteeners.
As for the Autumn shows, well done and good luck to everyone for what is shaping up to be some fantastic results.

Nineteen Sports Day!
The sun was out, spirits were high, and our game faces were firmly on for the annual Nineteen Sports Day, a proper staple in the Nineteen summer calendar. It was the perfect way to end the week and get stuck into some sports day classics, from rounders to the egg and spoon race, tug of war to the sack race; we had it all.
Huge congrats to everyone who took home the gold (or, erm, gold coloured plastic) and to everyone who took part and got involved! As you can see from the video, we’re not competitive at all. Not in the slightest…
It was a brilliant way to soak up some British sunshine (a rare treat, so we made the most of it) and come together as Team Nineteen. Same time next year?
AI, SEO, and a Visit to LinkedIn HQ!
Maxwell Kelly, Rachel Wong, and Nathan Stovell took a trip down to LinkedIn HQ, joining MCM for a seminar on AI and SEO Visibility, plus some exclusive insights straight from the LinkedIn lot themselves, and with 1.3 billion users and GROWING, it’s safe to say they know a thing or two about visibility!
So what did we learn?
First, how to optimise LinkedIn content so it actually gets seen by AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot.
Second, and this one stings a little, personal LinkedIn profiles carry significantly more authority and reach than company pages.
Turns out Peter Jones has been right the whole time!
Best of all, LinkedIn showcased a range of best-practice PPC creative examples, and Nineteen Group events accounted for around 90% of them. Nice to see that Nineteen is top of the class when it comes to all things PPC.
A brilliant morning of networking, learning, and a well-earned pat on the back.

Top Tips for Financial Awareness Day!
Friday 14 August was Financial Awareness Day, and what better way to celebrate than by sitting down with our very own finance team for their best money hacks? 😄
Here’s a sneak peek at their top tips:
🛡️ Protect your credit record; it’s more valuable than you think.
🎉 Live within your means, and treat any bonus as a bonus, not a new baseline!
📊 Break down your monthly spending: rent, bills, and everything else.
🏦 Big purchase coming up? Pop those savings into a high-interest account and let them work for you.
🚨 Build an emergency fund worth six months of expenses. Future you will thank you.
😂 And finally… don’t spend all your money. (Thanks, GG, not in finance; she just wanted to be involved.)
Just remember this is a bit of fun! Always seek guidance from a qualified financial advisor before making any big financial decisions. 💪✨
Pitch Perfect: Team ETS at Microsoft HQ
With September right around the corner, anticipation is building for next month’s Emergency Services Show and Emergency Tech Show!
Ahead of the show, Team ETS headed down to Paddington to visit Microsoft HQ and meet our partners exhibiting at the Microsoft Pavilion.
Lianne Bailey, Catherine Levin, Nancy McIntosh, Hayley Simpson, and Nathan Stovell kicked off the afternoon with a presentation packed with tips on what partners can expect and how to get the most out of their investment at the show.
Then the team took things up a notch with some Dragon’s Den-style pitches. The rules were simple: five minutes on the clock for each partner to showcase their offering directly to Microsoft and strengthen their relationship with the wider team.
The day wrapped up with networking drinks and plenty of conversation. Sadly, Bill Gates wasn’t there this time to raise a glass with the team, though we heard he sent his regards.
Make some noise for #ChooseEvents Week
#ChooseEvents Week is back!
From 1-4 September, AEO will be hosting Choose Events Week, and this time we want all of Nineteen shouting about it!
The mission is simple: celebrate the people who make events happen, showcase the incredible range of careers our industry offers, and inspire the next generation to choose events too.
Whether you’re in sales, ops, marketing, finance, or everything in between, share your story, celebrate your career journey, or just give a shoutout to a colleague who inspired you along the way.
Every post, every story, and every share adds to one united voice for events, and the louder we are, the further it travels.
Get on socials and use the hashtag #ChooseEvents, and help shine a light on why we LOVE working in events!

Team APAC
Message from Greg
Summer greetings from the APAC team!
It has been a high-energy first few weeks as we build strong momentum across our regional portfolio, from the vibrant market of Singapore to the expanding Australian construction landscape.
Right now, our full focus is on Safety & Security Asia at Sands Expo, Singapore, and Melbourne Build. With just 10 weeks to go, our teams are finalizing details with exhibitors, partners, speakers, and regional delegates to ensure we deliver high-impact events centered on quality connections and solid ROI.
Beyond these upcoming editions, we’re also laying the groundwork to expand our presence across strategic markets in APAC, strengthening local partnerships, and bringing the best of Nineteen Group’s expertise to the region.
A big thank you to the team for their dedication, hard work, shared vision, and warm welcome as I settle into the role. We look forward to meeting many of you very soon!

Team Hong Kong
Michael Wong Welcomes a New Addition to Nineteen. 👶🍼
It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks for the team, with plenty happening outside of work too. First and foremost, we’re thrilled to share that Michael’s baby, Maxwell, has finally arrived! Everyone at Nineteen sends a huge congratulations to Michael and his family as they begin this new chapter together. We’re sure the Nineteen babygrow will come in handy!
Welcome to the world, and to the extended Nineteen family, Baby Maxwell! 🩵
Catch-Up, Strategies, and Dim Sum! 🥟✨
We were pleased to welcome Tristan and Greg to Hong Kong last week. Their visit gave the team a great opportunity to spend time together, catch up in person, and talk through upcoming projects and priorities.
And of course, no visit would be complete without some local hospitality; the team enjoyed a fantastic dim sum lunch together!

Counting down
to Melbourne Build! ⏰
Looking ahead, the Hong Kong team is now focused on preparations for Melbourne Build, which is just three months away.
Planning and coordination efforts are well underway, with teams working closely together to make sure everything is ready for a successful delivery.
There’s still plenty to do before we get there, but it’s exciting to see the momentum building as the countdown continues and the project moves closer to reality.
Team Singapore
Networking their way to Success!
Ariel and Ping Ping headed to the NSCS Networking Reception to connect with industry professionals, partners, and stakeholders from the safety and security community, building relationships and setting the stage for HSEA 2026.
The standout moment came when they reconnected with Asia Green Industries, a previous partner from the 2025 edition. A well-timed chat, combined with a perfect pitch, backed by some solid figures on ROI, and the team had a S$17k contract in their hand, just two weeks later.
Proof that great conversations lead to great results.
When Singapore met Canada!
Greg, Ping Ping, and Ariel paid a visit to the Canadian Embassy to explore the possibility of a Canadian Pavilion at SSA 2026, and the conversation couldn’t have gone better.
The Embassy was fully on board, throwing its support behind the initiative and opening the door to closer collaboration. Next up, the team will be ramping up outreach and promotion to Canadian suppliers and manufacturers, laying the groundwork to bring Canada’s safety and security sector to the show floor.
Watch this space, it’s shaping up to be a great addition to SSA 2026.
Regine’s Exhibitor Briefing debut! 🌟
Big milestone on 27 August as Regine hosted her very first Exhibitor Briefing! A little nervous beforehand, understandably, but she needn’t have worried: the session ran smoothly and drew strong exhibitor attendance.
Next up, the team will be consolidating feedback and getting briefing materials out to exhibitors as event preparations continue at full speed.
A great first outing, well done, Regine!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
Big news out of the Waymo ESSA Sponsor Meeting on 27 August: ESSA has secured its very first theatre and lanyard sponsor for its inaugural edition, worth a total of S$57k!
It’s a brilliant milestone for the show, and a great example of teamwork in action, with the UK and Singapore teams joining forces to give the sponsor a smooth experience and maximise their presence on the day.
Here’s to many more to come.

Happy Birthday, Singapore! 🦁🎂
In true Singaporean fashion, the team marked National Day weekend (8-10 August) the way so many locals do: overseas!
This time, Team Singapore took on Phuket!
The trip doubled as the team’s first getaway together, and it delivered on all fronts: shopping, beach-hopping, massages and, naturally, plenty of good food.
A well-earned break and a great way to bond outside the office.
Happy birthday, Singapore!
Social at Ping Ping’s!
But the socials don’t stop there! Ping Ping kindly played host and invited the whole team over to her place.
The entire team showed up, partners in tow, and Greg brought his lovely family along too.
And because we’re the inclusive bunch you know and love, we made sure Pranav was fully part of the celebration, and it turned out to be his birthday too, so we threw in a little extra cheer for him!
Great games, great company, and an even better reminder of why we love this team. 🎉
Team TPA
Say Hello to the Member Experience Forum!
The Payments Association rolled out the red carpet for its very first Member Experience Forum, welcoming industry legends like Noyan Nihat, Co-CEO of Cardaq, and Natalie Lewis, Partner at Travers Smith LLP, plus a host of other brilliant members from the payments community.
It was the perfect opportunity for our Sales and Marketing teams to sit down with members and soak up some direct, honest feedback. We found out what we’re doing right, what our members value most about being part of the TPA community, and where we could be upping our game.
But this forum marks the first of MANY more to come! We’re planning to run these sessions more regularly, giving us an even sharper view of what we offer and where we can improve. Watch this space, payments people; we’re just getting started!
Founder’s Rounders, Sunshine, & A TPA BBQ!
One of our favourite TPA traditions made its triumphant return: the annual Founder’s Rounders in Larkhall Park, and the weather well and truly knocked it out of the park, delivering glorious sunshine from start to finish.
Teams battled it out for rounders bragging rights, with Team 2 scoring a full rounder in the competition to take the win. Congratulations, Team 2, you smashed it!
From there, everyone headed to Tony and Tory’s for a beautiful BBQ, complete with good food, good drinks, and some even better company.
Founder’s Rounders is always a jewel in the TPA social calendar and a brilliant excuse to swap the office for the outdoors.
A huge thank you to Tony and Tory for once again opening up their home and hosting Team TPA!
New Faces, New Challenges, and New Chapters!
There’s a whole lot of movement happening in our Working Groups team, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it!
First up, please join us in welcoming Chantal Connaughton, who joined TPA on Wednesday 26 August as our new Project Manager. Chantal will be working alongside Head of Working Groups, Natasha Healey, taking over from Beth Whymark, who’s moving on from TPA to return to her roots in the food and beverage industry. Beth, we wish you all the best in your new role.
Meanwhile, we’re raising a glass to Jay Gau, who’ll be stepping up to Project Manager from 14 September. A thoroughly well-deserved promotion and an exciting next chapter for Jay.
Lots of change, plenty to celebrate.
Welcome, Chantal.
Good luck, Beth.
And congratulations, Jay, you’ve earned every bit of it!
TPA Walks the Walk for Solace Women’s Aid
On Saturday 22 August, 11 of us swapped our office chairs for walking shoes and took on a whopping 25km of the London Summer Walk, all in support of Solace Women’s Aid.
The team hit the pavement together, raising money for a brilliant cause. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’ve raised an amazing £1,442 for the charity so far, and if you’d like to help us go the extra mile (or yard, depending on your unit of measurement), you can still donate here:
